Ideal is always to slug the barrel and check by using a dummy spherical which has a bullet that may be near groove, or a pair thousandths oversize. The issue chances are you'll come across is that a big more than enough bullet may not suit the chamber. (Winchester '73's experienced an inclination to get all over the location in groove diameter!)
